For this new version of Art Paris, the gallery celebrates the unique dialogue between these Chilean artists and the global art community. Ricardo Maffei, Benjamín Lira, Samy Benmayor, and Javier Toro Blum present a multifaceted vision of Chilean art, spanning various genres and mediums—from hyperrealism and abstraction to neo-expressionism and conceptual art. This exhibition invites viewers to explore the rich emotional, intellectual, and spiritual landscapes emerging from the far south of the world and to witness how they resonate within the contemporary Parisian setting.
Ricardo Maffei’s hyperrealist paintings slow down time, evoking a meditative stillness. With meticulous attention to light, texture, and detail, Maffei transforms ordinary objects into compositions of quiet reverence. His works invite viewers into moments of reflection, where the beauty of the mundane is elevated to something almost sacred.
Benjamin Lira, in contrast, embraces experimentation, using form, color, and materiality to create deeply expressive compositions. His abstract works are emotional and intuitive, resonating on a visceral level. Lira’s art becomes a bridge between the internal and external worlds, allowing viewers to engage with abstraction as a means of personal interpretation.
Samy Benmayor introduces a playful yet profound energy to the conversation. His work, rooted in neo-expressionism, features bold colors, fluid lines, and spontaneous gestures that evoke a sense of movement and narrative. His paintings, often imbued with humor and irony, challenge traditional structures and invite an emotional response that oscillates between nostalgia and curiosity.
Javier Toro Blum expands the spectrum further, blending sculpture, installation, and conceptual art to explore perception, space, and material transformation. His work challenges the boundaries between the physical and the ephemeral, creating interactive experiences that engage both the mind and the senses.

Ricardo Maffei (b. 1953, Santiago) began painting at a young age under the tutelage of Miguel Venegas, a renowned realist painter, where he encountered Claudio Bravo, who later became his teacher and mentor. Maffei resided in Spain for over a decade, frequently journeying to Bravo's workshop-house in Tangier, Morocco. In 1987, he held his inaugural solo exhibition at the EGAM Gallery in Madrid. By the late nineties, he debuted at the esteemed Marlborough Gallery in New York, marking his first solo exhibition in 2000. Maffei has participated in over 40 group exhibitions across cities like Miami, Paris, Dubai, Buenos Aires, and showcased his works in various international fairs including FIAC Paris, ARCO Madrid, Art Miami, ArteBA, Contemporary Istanbul, and Art Dubai, among others.
Benjamín Lira was born in 1950 in Santiago, Chile. He pursued his studies at the San Fernando Academy in Madrid and later at the Byam Shaw School of Arts in London. After returning to Chile, he continued to delve into the portrayal of the human form through various solo and group exhibitions. In 1977, he won an award at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago, which allowed him to study at the Pratt Institute in New York. Lira has contributed to group exhibitions at renowned galleries including Marlborough and Leila Taghinia-Milani in New York, Forum in Lima, Peru, and the Himalayas Museum in Shanghai, China. He also represented Chile at the 15th São Paulo Art Biennial. Moreover, Lira has showcased his work extensively in Chile, with exhibitions held at prestigious venues such as the National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago, Sala Gasco, AMS Galería, among others.
Samy Benmayor (b. 1956, Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean visual artist known for his vibrant and expressive paintings. A key figure in the neo-expressionist movement in Chile during the 1980s, Benmayor's work is characterized by bold colors, dynamic lines, and playful compositions that often incorporate humor and irony. His paintings blend abstraction and figuration, creating a distinctive visual language that explores emotion, spontaneity, and the subconscious. Benmayor studied at Universidad de Chile, where he developed a unique artistic style that defied traditional academic norms. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across Latin America, the United States, and Europe, solidifying his place as one of Chile’s most prominent contemporary artists. Beyond painting, he has also explored sculpture, illustration, and design, continuously evolving his artistic practice.
Javier Toro Blum (b. 1982, Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean artist whose work explores perception, space, and material transformation through sculpture, installation, and conceptual art. His practice delves into the relationship between physical structures and human cognition, often incorporating light, movement, and sensory experiences to challenge conventional ways of seeing. Toro Blum studied art and psychology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and later pursued a Master's degree in Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins, London. His work has been exhibited in galleries and institutions across Chile, Europe, and the United States, positioning him as a key figure in contemporary Chilean art.
